I'm a hermit and I know it

So, hi.
I haven't been here in waaaaay too long.
Seriously--like, a month?
I'm awful.

I had a senior shoot a few weeks ago (and I'm just getting them blogged--my life is insane).

I shot Sarah.
And she was neat.
And her eyes were RIDICULOUS.
And she made me laugh.

Such a good sport.

Here are a few favorite shots :)

Isn't she cute?

Hopefully, come Christmas, I'll be a little caught up on life and stuff.

Love you all.

I have a senior shoot in a little over an hour, which I'm excited about.
I am swallowed by homework.
I am drowning in assignments, papers, plays, finals, projects that I have to get done.
I am smooshed between finding someone to take over my lease and find a new place to live.

And I feel so alive and so happy all at the same time.

Everything will work out.

Lauren [Senior '12]

I had so much fun with Lauren.  Her hair kills.  Her eyes kill.  Gosh.  Too pretty.  Her little bro, Matt was a lot of fun to hang out with too.  He ended up being a pretty good assistant.

It was such a good shoot.  :)

Wanderlust Wednesday

IRELAND EDITION!

Lately, I've been drinking a lot of hot tea and eating a lot of scones.
And doing those things reminds me of Scotland/England.  But I've already been to both places (not that I'd mind going again...several times).  So, I thought about Ireland.

And how it calls me like this:

*insert Irish accent*  "Rachel, young lass, come to Ireland."

Do you guys hear it too?

One day.

Here are some lovely photos found on Pinterest.

You guys wanna go with me, right? :)

JVM on a Tuesday night

HEY GUYS.

Hello.
Um.

How have the beginning of your weeks been?  Have they been good?
Good.

I haven't had to go into work yesterday or today, so I've had some time to hang out, relax, and be productive.

Yesterday, I went to Hobby Lobby, which might as well be named "End of Rachel's Bank Account" because I want, nay, need everything in there.  Well, maybe that's exaggerating.

But still.

I'm slowly learning self-control with my craft shopping.  So yesterday I only bought about 12 unnecessary items.  Woo!

Here are a few pictures from the past few days.

I really like those dogs.

I'm listening to James Vincent McMorrow, drinking tea, and getting ready to paint.

Cheers to life.

Have a love Tuesday night!

A.A. Bondy: Artist of my week.

Okay, please listen to this song.  It's lovely.  Disregard that the video is only the music and the exact same picture of him.  Open up a new tab and go onto Pinterest while listening.

I've had this song stuck in my head for about a week now.
I ain't mad. :)

New Logo for Re: Photography

So, as you may or may not know, I'm a photographer.  I don't own my own business yet, but I'm taking necessary steps in order to do that by February '12.

Here is my new logo for Re: Photography. :)

I like it.

I was debating for a little while whether or not I wanted to keep in line with the whole "drink tea, be lovely" vintage-style feel, but I came to the conclusion that there are many sides to me.  There's a tea-drinking, vintage-loving side, and there's a side that loves design and words and putting them together.  So I thought it'd be good to go with my initial thought and use triangles in my logo with some straight-forward, somewhat modern text.

What do you think? :)

Date Night

Ethan and I both are full time students who work.  Sometimes between our schedules, it's hard to find time to hang out.  So we have to look beyond weekends for special date nights.  Introducing: The Mondate.

We drove the lovely autumny drive to Pops soda fountain/restaurant and had dinner.

The neat soda bottle that glows once it's dark outside.

Pops is home to something like 10,000 types of soda.

So, we obviously had to try something different.  I got the Dry Blood Orange Soda.
Ethan got birch beer, which was super.  I enjoyed both.

This is what I look like sometimes.

I am really fond of him.

 'Stachetacular.

Ethan chowed on a cheeseburger and fries.  Meat and cheese only.

I had a house salad and a side (a huge, really really really delicious side) of fried okra.
Let it be known that A1 is the most delicious sauce ever.  I'll eat on nearly everything.

Ethan was a'creepin.  Thank him for this beautiful shot. Haha.

After we ate dinner, we got froyo (even though we were really full).
And then we went to go see 50/50.  It was a super good movie.  Heartfelt and funny.  It made you think, too.

I love dates with my boy.  I think next time we're going to drink milk and eat donuts and rent a movie or go on a walk or something. :)  Can't wait.

Wanderlust Wednesdays

New blog installment, y'all.
Get excited.

I love alliteration.  So, from now on, Wednesdays shall be called "Wanderlust Wednesdays" to express my constant desire to move/travel/explore/experience.

I'm gonna blog about Seattle.  Because I want to travel there with Mr. Hickerson.
Here are some lovely photos of Seattle for you to enjoy. :)
